This is Mine.

We all have a story to share with the world. Within each of us as women we have brokenness, and we have victory, we have jagged edges and we have sprinkles of glitter. Hidden deep within our soul is the real us. A beautiful tapestry being woven by our creator to shine His glory for all the world to see.

For years I hid my dark spots. I covered them with the perfect fitness girl images, the trend diet fads, the Pinterest worthy home, perfectly dressed children and of course the perfect marriage. Honestly now a days, my life is what I call “almost perfect” because as we all know, nothing is perfect this side of Heaven, except for one thing the work that God is completing in us.

My story goes like this... (a very condescended version anyhow) A girl from a broken home {although my parents were very loving and supportive} Suffered from a sever eating disorder fo years. Binging and purging were what I thought of as healthy. I married my high school sweet heart at 19, moved away to California, where I came to know Jesus and my life was completely changed! I had two children, then we moved again and I had our third child. We moved a few more times (7 to be exact for my husbands career) when I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Disease (an autoimmune thyroid disorder). We moved again, when I was diagnosed with early stages of MS, and then another move to North Carolina where we currently live. I now can proclaim that I have been set free from disordered eating for 11 years! I am living abundantly amongst the trials that autoimmune disease brings, and I adamantly believe that Joy is a choice we make daily. Life is a gift. One that is to be used well, intentionally and balanced carefully. And praise God we don’t ever have to do any of it alone!

Wellness is a lifestyle. I live this, I breath this, and I teach this. We all have scars and bruises. But on the inside we are all made of the same materials. We have all been uniquely hand crafted by our loving Creator. He has a purpose for each one of us. “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10)

Your journey will be vastly different from mine, yet I dare say maybe similar in some ways. Ladies we all struggle because the enemy tells us what the perfect size is, the perfect hair color, eye color, weight, muscle definition, lipstick color, handbag for the season, and oh my soul the list could go on for days.

But you won’t hear the voice of the enemy tell you what is truly valued by God, your character! Your love for others. How great a friend you are. How compassionate you are. How giving you are. These things can not be compared...

Comparison is the thief of ALL JOY!

Your wellness journey is SO MUCH MORE THAN A NUMBER ON THE SCALE. It starts within. With a mindset shift. Healthy comes in many different sizes and packages. Your healthy will surely be different than my healthy. Your bone size, genetics and beautiful family heritage play a tremendous role in your “perfect size.”

We all have a story... this is just part of mine! I am grateful that God brought me through the pain and suffering of a warped self-perception, because through it I have been able to help many women rightly place their worth in truth, and turn away from lies.

You are His workmanship. You are created for more than you could ever dream. You are so much more than a number. To Him you were worth giving His life for your freedom.

Come journey with me and learn more about my story, and start to claim yours, the good, the bad and the ugly. Walk in it and share it.

Xoxo,

Brittany
